Beef Recall Alert for CT, MA and ME

Not a full blog on this -- but big enough (545,699 pounds of fresh ground beef!) and at enough stores I shop that I wanted to share/Tweet.  Huge recall of fresh ground beef products that may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced today. Stores with product include Trader Joes, Giant, Price Chopper, Lancaster and Wild Harvest, Shaw’s and BJ’s.  The states are Connecticut, Maine and Massachusetts.   According to the press release, “Each package bears the establishment number "EST. 492" inside the USDA mark of inspection or on the nutrition label.”  To see the full press release, go here: http://www.fsis.usda.gov/News_&_Events/Recall_059_2009_Release/index.asp.
